  • Risks of Dating Asian Women

    Date: 2011.03.23 | Category: Dating | Response: 0

This post is not just about dating Asian women but travel in Asia as well.
Dating outside of one’s culture is hard enough without the added burden of scams and disease. I am sure you are well aware of common diseases to watch for in any relationship. However,  Asia has some diseases that we don’t think much about here in the west.

One of the diseases that needs some attention is tuberculosis (TB). TB is a lung disease consisting of bacteria in the lungs. It is spread in the air when infected people cough, sneeze or spit. In many parts of Asia it is the custom to not cover one’s moth when coughing or sneezing. I always hate riding on public transportation with a bunch of people coughing and sneezing on me. To westerners this is quite repulsive, but in a lot of Asian counties this is acceptable behavior.

Most people with TB don’t even know they have it. At any given time the majority of people with TB are in a dormant state. About 10 percent of people with latent TB will develop the active disease. The sad part is that it will kill as many as half of these people.

Wikipedia states that about “One third of the world’s population is thought to be infected with M. tuberculosis. The distribution of tuberculosis is not uniform across the globe; about 80% of the population in many Asian and African countries test positive in tuberculin tests, while only 5–10% of the US population test positive” This means that if you’re on a bus or train in Asia there is a good chance you will be expose to tuberculosis.

  • Why Asian Women Prefer White Men

    Date: 2011.03.04 | Category: Dating | Response: 0

I was reading an article in the guardian about why Asian women may prefer white men. While this article was referring to south Asian women I believe it may to some extent relate to women from East and South East Asia as well. The main point of the article is that British men are more accepting of women as individuals than are men from cultures that the article depicts as oppressive.
Here is the article Broken family values
